Painting with Chim is a creative hub built on one simple belief: art is meant to be felt, not just seen.
We bring people together through immersive Paint Paint experiences that invite anyone regardless of skill level to
explore creativity in a relaxed, welcoming, and inspiring environment.
Our studio offers guided painting sessions led by experienced artist-instructors who balance structure with freedom,
making every session fun, expressive, and deeply human. Whether you’re joining us for personal enjoyment, a corporate
team-building experience, a birthday celebration, or a special milestone, every session is designed to spark connection,
confidence, and creativity.
With a carefully curated atmosphere, live DJs and performances on select nights, and an on-site café offering refreshments,
Painting with Chim is more than an art studio;it’s a space where creativity and community thrive.
Our Story
Chimwemwe Luwanda’s artistic journey began at Jacaranda School for Orphans, where art was taught in a humble school garage that doubled as an art club classroom. It was there that he first learned to paint, discovered his creative voice, and understood the power of art as expression and healing.
In 2024 with support from Jacaranda School for Orphans, Chimwemwe Luwanda, held his first solo exhibition at Lotus Hotel, Blantyre. Every painting sold, most of them outside Malawi. While the success was exciting, it sparked a deeper realization: art was being admired from afar, but not fully experienced at home.
That moment changed everything.
Chimwemwe knew that for people to truly appreciate art, they needed more than gallery walls. They needed brushes in their hands. They needed to do art, to feel it, to connect with it personally. That’s when the idea of Painting with Chim was born.
The journey began with a partnership with STAKEOUT Bar & Restaurant in Blantyre, where the very first Paint Paint event debuted. The turnout exceeded expectations. Event after event, the community showed up, laughing, painting, connecting. Soon, requests for private sessions started pouring in. Some were hosted in homes, but many people didn’t have suitable space.
That gap revealed a new need: a dedicated place where anyone could walk in and paint, on their own time.
The first Painting with Chim studio was opened, but like many bold beginnings, it didn’t survive. Still, Chimwemwe didn’t quit. Instead, he learned, rebuilt, and returned stronger.
Today, Painting with Chim Studio is proudly running, rooted in resilience, passion, and community.
